Scoops ("the app") is operated by ALHI Media Services. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and your choices.
Device identifier: On first launch, the app generates a random identifier stored on your device. This is not tied to your name, email, or any personal account, and is used only to track your own contribution progress toward VIP status.
Location: With your permission, the app uses your device's location to center the map near you and, if you choose to save a home location, to personalize your experience. Your precise home location, if saved, is stored only on your own device and is never sent to our servers or shared publicly.
Content you submit: If you post a "scoop" (a local tip), the category, text, approximate location, and optional photo you submit are stored on our servers and, once approved, displayed publicly within the app. Please don't include personal information about yourself or others in submitted content.
Purchase information: If you purchase VIP access, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple's App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details.
We do not require account creation, and we do not collect your name, email address, or phone number to use the app.
Information is used solely to operate the app: displaying local tips on a map, tracking your own progress toward VIP status, and moderating submitted content for quality and safety.
The app uses Mapbox to display maps, and Apple's App Store to process in-app purchases. These providers may collect information according to their own privacy policies.
We do not sell your information to third parties. Publicly submitted content (approved scoops) is visible to all app users by design.
Scoops is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
You can decline location permission at any time in your device settings, though this will limit some features. To request removal of content you've submitted, contact us using the information below.
